She even came 4 days early, which was much appreciated by both Brock and I. Here are the details:

Sunday December 4 - 11:33 PM:
My water broke. I was sleeping when it happened and I woke Brock up and told him that I thought my water was breaking and then I ran to the bathroom. He sat in bed a little bit shocked and I sat in the bathroom extremely shocked and not sure if I was ready or not. We made it to the hospital around 12:30 and they gowned me up. It's hard to believe I was that big.

The next 16 hours were the longest hours of my life. The nurse checked me to make sure that my water had broken and at first she couldn't get the strip to read that my water had broken. Well I had a high leak so it hadn't broken all the way. I did really well with the contractions at first. I walked around, sat in the Jacuzzi and we watched Polar Express. I was able to relax through them and they weren't super super painful. They kept checking me every two hours and I would dilate one more centimeter so I was progressing at least. Keep in mind this was all happening in the middle of the night and I did not get a chance to sleep at all the entire night. At one point when the nurse checked me she accidentally broke my water the rest of the way. After that contractions became very painful. On Monday around 12 PM ish I think (I didn't keep track and I honestly don't remember so that's a guess) I had to get out of the jacuzzi so that they could check me and monitor the baby for a little bit. Well I was dilated to a 5+ which was good but the babies heart rate would drop with each contraction so they were worried that the baby had the cord around the neck. From then on out I became bedridden because they wanted to keep monitoring the baby. I could not get up and move around and the contractions had become excruciatingly painful. I had completely forgotten all of the relaxation techniques I had planned to use and after a few hours of pain and I begged for the epidural. :P I really wasn't going to get it but I was so exhausted because I was running on less than 2 hours of sleep and I could not think to relax so I decided to go ahead and let my body rest.

After the epidural I dilated fairly quickly and I was able to rest. They put me on an IV and on oxygen and then they also had to insert a catheter into my uterus to put water back up in there in case the cord was wrapped around the babies neck. Around 2 PM I was fully dilated and getting ready to start the pushing phase. During transition I still got sick and threw up. That was no fun considering I had no energy anyways. The nurse told us that I probably wouldn't have to push much though because she was so low. Well that turned out to be wrong. It ended up taking 2 and half hours to push that little baby girl into the world. She was born at 4:39 PM and weighed 7 lbs 6 oz and was 19 inches long.

Unfortunately she swallowed meconium and as soon as Brock cut the cord they had to get it all out of her tummy before I could hold her. I was exhausted and just to make me more tired I threw up again. It really was a magical experience seeing her be born but I have to admit that I don't want to go through labor again any time soon. :) But now we have this beautiful baby girl and she is healthy and happy and we are loving her so much. She is our best Christmas present.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; I just wanted to write a small post about how grateful I am for everything that we have been blessed with and to mention that, yes, we did put up our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday! Woot woot! I love this time of year! Well here are a few things I am grateful for, just to name a few:

-An amazing husband who treats me so so well - he is my best friend and I am grateful to have eternity with him.
-Wonderful families who do so much for us
-Our baby girl that is on her way - due date is in 2 weeks so we will see when she will get here :)
-A healthy pregnancy
-A warm place to live - heat and warm water
-Our freedoms and those who fight for them
-Good health
-Having 2 vehicles so when one breaks down, we at least have 1 left to use. :P
-Brock's employment
-Always having enough food to eat
-The gospel and our Savior Jesus Christ
-A happy life and optimistic attitude - I'm not always optimistic but I feel pretty blessed that I can try to see the good in all things.

Anyways those are just a few things that I am grateful for and the list could go on forever but I won't. So like I said we put up our Christmas tree and decorations yesterday. I still need to get a wreath or something for our door but I am pretty stoked. I love Christmas time! I am also pretty excited that I only have 2 weeks left (3 at the most if she goes over) for our baby to be born. I am so incredibly excited to be a mother and cannot believe that these 9 months of pregnancy are almost over. Life is so good!

Busy Busy!

Well I have noticed that I have only been posting about every 5 weeks (when I have a new pregnancy picture to put up). It's just crazy how busy life gets! Between baby showers and birthday celebrations I feel like I don't have time to post, yet I do and I just get lazy. I am officially done with my job and now I actually do have time, although I have been spending time trying to get pregnancy books read, house cleaned, thank you cards written, Christmas shopping, and other baby stuff done. I love hanging out with my sister in laws and am bummed I won't be able to do black Friday shopping with them this year. I am so excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. I am especially excited to have this baby! I have been reading about Hypnobirthing and I am excited to try some of the relaxation techniques during labor. I am almost 36 weeks now and I told this baby girl that she can come anytime after Thanksgiving, preferably the day after Thanksgiving because it is a Friday and weekends are good. Lets cross our fingers and hope that she comes then. :)

Random Stuff

Ok so this post is pretty random but I wanted to post an updated preggo pic. We went to our first lamaze class on Monday and I really enjoyed it. It's fun to see other pregnant moms getting ready for the big event. We also had a parenting class last night and I think its still hitting me that we are actually going to have a baby. I am super excited and a little apprehensive. Not to sound selfish, but I am excited to have my body back. I will seriously miss feeling her move but I am more excited to have her to hold in my arms. :)

Well not much else is going on other than slowly getting ready for baby and getting ready for the holidays. I LOVE this time of year! We took a drive up Logan Canyon on Sunday and I wish I had taken a picture. Gorgeous! Now there is snow up there so I am glad we went when we did. I am excited for the Holidays and to make yummy treats. One treat I am especially excited about is pumpkin rolls! I love these things (a little too much). Here is the recipe I am going to use so hopefully it's a good one.

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-65kGgcMbDLU/To8_quQ_-UI/AAAAAAAAAGw/Phy7iBsm3qY/s1600/pumpkin-roll.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; I have to admit that I was actually for summer to end because reason #1: I didn't have to go back to school, #2: I LOVE Fall and everything that happens during this season, #3: We are going to have a baby in December! Well this blog is just a little update of August and September, now that it is almost over. The picture above pretty much explains what the last month has been like. Hunting season has come and gone and we spent most weekends at the end of August and the beginning of September up in the mountains. I even got into the spirit of it and wore one of Brock's old hunting shirts from when he was like 14. :P I actually always love hunting season though because they do archery so it's not so dangerous and basically it gives the rest of us who aren't actually hunting a chance to hang out and eat delicious food. Plus the road hunts are always fun because I can actually go with! So August was pretty busy along with other things such as baby blessings, baptisms and other family parties. September has been pretty uneventful. Just working, hanging out with family, getting peach raspberry shakes at Pettingills fruit stand (YUM), and relaxing.

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--wJHbX4gpns/Tnt54b4wxZI/AAAAAAAAAGo/SPIKnPntxY0/s1600/003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Here I am at 25 weeks. I am now almost 29 weeks and I feel HUGE! My visiting teaching partner is pregnant too and when we met for the first time we asked how far along we each were. I am due December 9 and she is due September 27, yet I looked exactly the same as her. :S I have ramped up my exercise routine since it wasn't much before and I am trying to not eat so much junk, but I will probably have plenty of work to do after the baby comes. Not much else has been happening lately other than my sister just announced she is pregnant with her third baby! I am stoked for her and our babies will only be about 4 or 5 months apart! Fun fun!

It's a Girl!

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; (sorry for the terrible picture, I just scanned it in really quickly and didn't really take the time to make it look good) We had our ultrasound on July 12 (it's been awhile since I have had time to blog) and found out that it was not a boy as I and most of my family thought. I really wasn't sure at all what gender it would be since it is my first pregnancy but after my Mom told me that she thought it was a boy and my Mother-in-law also said that she thought it was a boy, I was pretty convinced that it would be a boy. During the ultrasound the baby kept putting her legs together so it was hard to see. Finally she spread them out a little bit but then put her hand down there. I then knew for sure it was a girl because she was being modest. :P Now that "it" is a "she" it really does seem more real that we are going to have a baby. I am becoming more and more excited the further I get, especially when I can feel her moving around like crazy. I just can't wait to hold and cuddle her! I am now a little over 21 weeks and feeling pretty good although I am starting to feel huge and I am not even that huge yet. The other day I started having a little bit of a freak out moment when I realized that I am going to have to actually give birth to this baby. It is all well and good when they are this small and it is so fun to feel them move but then I realized what that all means and I kind of freaked out a little bit. It's all good though because I figure so many people do it so I should be ok. :P Here is a picture of me at 20 weeks. Not the best picture but good enough. :)

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-tKgWamde25o/TjijVBwulQI/AAAAAAAAAGU/22UqRFX8B9E/s1600/20+weeks+%25282%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; (not the best picture of me but oh well) I took this picture last week so really I should have taken one today now that I am 16 weeks but I am lazy. Plus I don't look much different from last week and now. It's crazy how the first trimester dragged on forever and ever and now time is flying by so fast it's hard to keep up. We will find out if it's a boy or a girl on July 12. I am pretty stoked for that. Brock is hoping for a boy and I don't really care either way. We have a boy and girl name picked out already so I will be content with either one. :) Other than feeling fat, life is good!

Oh baby . . .

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; For Spring break we headed up to the western coast. We drove up through Idaho and then into Portland, Oregon. We spent one day going to the temple in Portland and then heading up to Astoria, Oregon. We also drove into Washington a little bit just to say that we went to Washington. :P After Astoria we took the west coast highway that drove all along the coast of Oregon into California. It was gorgeous! We got to Crescent City, California on our second to last day and spent some time there. On the morning that we were going to leave to head to Reno, Nevada we woke up very early to the sounds of sirens. Brock thought it was an ambulance but I thought maybe it was a tsunami warning because it sounded like those sirens you hear in the movies when some disaster is about to happen. Brock thought I was crazy but said I could turn on the news to see. Lo and behold, Crescent City was on a list of places to be evacuated because a tsunami was coming. What are the odds? The whole trip we kept seeing tsunami evacuation route signs but never imagined we would have to follow them. How ironic that the one time we are actually on the coast we have to evacuate!

We were pretty close to the beach but really not close enough to worry, but we just kept picturing huge waves coming and sweeping away the whole city so we decided to head to Reno a little early. Unfortunately we had to drive through the redwoods in the dark so we didn't get to see much of them. :S Overall though it was a good vacation and more exciting than we anticipated. Here are some pictures.

The view from our Hotel in Astoria. This is the Columbia River heading out into the ocean.

                                Ok not really. We went to an aquarium in Oregon. It was pretty cool.

<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-622EhPMMPLs/TY91qQClTfI/AAAAAAAAAE4/HnIiD5JphuQ/s1600/West+Coast+Vacation+128.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; These pictures aren't in order of the trip, but oh well. The temple grounds were by far the prettiest I have seen.

<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-TF6lTAde8lM/TY90lnu8DwI/AAAAAAAAAEs/PINJvVvRghg/s1600/West+Coast+Vacation+041.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; It all began last Saturday night when I was coming home from meeting up with some friends in Ogden. It was about 10:15 at night and I was heading North on mainstreet almost home when BAM! The car next to me crashes into me and pushes me off to the side of the road. I was sitting there thinking, "did that really just happen?" Brock had told me that he didn't really want me to drive down to Ogden but since the weather had gotten better we both felt like it would probably be ok if I still went. I felt like I should cancel and reschedule but I felt bad because it had been months since I had seen my friends and since the weather was good I felt I had no excuse. So I went even though I had some misgivings about it. Well back to the accident, I am sitting there on the side of the road cursing myself and thinking that I shouldn't have gone. Plus I was still a little bit in shock. The man who had hit me got out of his car and started my way so I went to get out as well. The door was hard to get open and the man had to help me open it. He looked a little sketchy because of his gray wifebeater t-shirt and the tattoos and earrings (I guess I shouldn't be judgemental, but he just looked sketchy). He asked to borrow my phone but I told him I needed to make a call first. Then he told me that he just ran to the store to get groceries and that he didn't even have a license. So I proceed to call my husband and the guy takes off. His car wouldn't start so he ditches it and runs off into some nearby neighborhoods. After I called my husband I looked behind me to see that there were some cars pulled off the road behind me. Then I found out what happened. Apparently a man in a white truck was heading South when he started having a diabetic seizure. He was swerving all over the road and he is the one who hit the car next to me which made that car hit me. The man having the seizure kept traveling down the street and ended up causing more accidents and eventually was stopped when he hit a bigger truck head on. One of the girls in that truck broke her back so I was very lucky. Finally the cops arrived and got going on figuring out what the heck happened cause all total there were 8 cars involved. I told a cop about the runaway and described the man to the cop. Then I ended up identifying who the man was from a mugshot the police had of him (go figure). So, crazy night, our new car had to be towed but luckily it is still fixable and luckily I wasn't hurt like the poor girl who broke her back. Finally we get home around midnight and headed inside, exhausted. We heard something slide and then a small crash. We looked outside our apartment door to see that our jeep had slid on the ice it was parked on and was kissing the truck below it. Great! Really?!? So Brock gets the guy who owns the truck and tells him what happened. Luckily it only left a scuff on our jeep and very small dent in his truck and he decided after a few days that he wasn't going to worry about fixing it and that we didn't need to worry about. Whew! So needless to say, it's been a crazy week, especially since we are heading to Oregon on Monday for vacation and we needed everything to be taken care of before we left.

Moral of this very long story is that you should always listen to promptings. Even if you don't feel like they are promptings, don't ignore them. I learned a very hard and stressful lesson. Luckily we still have much to be grateful for and things are working out very well. The Lord definitely is blessing us and we are so fortunate that things are going to be fine. I would have put a picture up of my car but I didn't have a camera to take a picture after the accident so no picture, sorry for all you visual folks.

January/February Adventures

The new year has already been a pretty good year (it is only February after all). In January we did a few different fun things that I never blogged about because they weren't really that exciting but I will put pictures up anyway. :) At the beginning of January we went to Hardware Ranch with Brock's parents and his brother and sister in law. It was freeeeeeezing but fun all the same. (Warning: Not a very attractive picture of either of us, but it was all we had of us there.)

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;

<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-MI0xcvFUyYk/TVx-ByznPWI/AAAAAAAAAEc/N7KB3lkw7m8/s1600/021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; On Friday we went out to eat at an Italian place called La Nonnes. Pretty pricey but it's legit Italian food and it's super yummy. On Saturday we made our own Italian meal of tortellini, breaded asparagus and breadsticks! Yum! Brock also got me flowers, chocolates (who knew I would be such a sucker for cliche Valentine's gifts) and a CD with an authentic card made by the hubby himself. Life is good.

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; The Saturday after Thanksgiving we came home and set up our Christmas tree and all of our decorations. I feel like our tiny apartment feels so much more homey when we have decorations up. It has already been a wonderful holiday season. Thanksgiving was so much fun. We had a pie contest at the Elegante home and we all ended up eating way too much pie. Then we headed down to my parent's house and spent time with them. It is so good to spend time with family. Another exciting thing about this Christmas season is that I graduated! I am officially a graduate of Utah State University! Brock and I also celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We decided to head down to Manti and spend a few days down there. We were able to go to the Manti temple which is absolutely beautiful and just relax. It was nice to get away from all the holiday bustle and just spend time together. Now we are excited to celebrate Christmas in a few days with all of our family. Also Jason and Sharelle had their baby girl. They named her Sarah Lynn Skoubye. She is absolutely darling and so so tiny. What a fun Christmas season!

<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/__7TRHq2dN9Y/TROTjInmIiI/AAAAAAAAAD4/0jEc1yQ9Fsw/s1600/Christmas+time+2010+008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Who doesn't love Fall? This has to be one of my favorite seasons because there is so much going on. There is so much to love and so much to enjoy during this season. Here is a list of some of the things that I love about Fall:

1. School starts (which really isn't exciting for most people, but I am graduating this semester so I am excited to get it done).
2. General Conference - wonderful spiritual upliftment that is much needed during these hectic days.
3. Fall leaves - Beautiful!!
4. Cooler weather - time to pull out cute sweaters and long sleeve shirts (love long sleeves).
5. Halloween - love seeing all the cute kids in costumes.
6. Corn mazes
7. More ideas for dates - ex: corn mazes, haunted houses, carve pumpkins, make yummy pumpkin treats, go for a drive to see the leaves, etc.
8. Thanksgiving - good food and family, what more can you want! :)
9. More family time - lot's of good reasons to go and spend time with the family.
10. Christmas! (ok so I know that this doesn't happen during the "actual" Fall season, but it is still exciting knowing that it is coming).

Plus this year we will be celebrating our 2 year anniversary on December 13 and that is pretty exciting as well. Another thing I love about fall is that it is a great time to sit down and count your blessings. How blessed we are to live in a free country that allows us to worship our God freely and to choose who we want to be in this life. How blessed I am to have a roof over my head, food on my table, and shoes on my feet. How blessed I am to have a wonderful family who loves me. How blessed I am to have an amazing husband who treats me with respect, loves me for who I really am, and tells me I am beautiful. How blessed I am to have a knowledge of our savior Jesus Christ and his love for us. Truly I am blessed and I love how much this time of year reminds me to have gratitude for those blessings.

Spring!

Ok it has been awhile since I have posted anything so because I am basically done with my classes and I have free time I decided it might be a good idea to update. Spring has sprung, and then snow has fallen today, but hopefully our warm weather will come back. We are officially two weeks away from being done for the semester and I am incredibly excited. I don't know why because I am going to have a busy summer but it will be nice to not have class and homework. I am going to be interning at Bear River Head Start and Brock will probably be working landscape again for the summer. I am mostly just excited for "real" warm weather that lasts longer than 3 days and I am excited to go do things. Not that we have anything super eventful planned but we will at least have the weekends free of homework so we will have the option of going somewhere. :) Hooray for Summer!! Anyways we are just loving life and staying busy and I am planning on graduating this Fall so be excited for me! Brock will graduate next Spring so we only have a year left of poverty stricken student life which is pretty exciting, although who knows if we will get out of poverty. :) At least we will both hopefully be working full time. I really can't complain about being poor though because we honestly are so blessed and we have everything we need. Well I don't know if anyone ever gets on these blogs or if we all just write on them for our own personal benefit, but I decided that if anyone did read this, they would be pretty bored. Maybe someday we will have a baby so we can put cute pictures up and people will want to get on. :P

Christmas Season

This Christmas has been so great! I just love this season and I love spending time with our families. We spent Christmas Eve with Brock's family. We began the day celebrating Brock's niece Brooklynn's birthday. She has grown so much since she was born two months early last December. Later we opened gifts as a family and then we had a Christmas program. Jarom played a Christmas song for everyone, then Bri and Nolan did a Christmas dance. Pretty darn funny. Then Brock and I read the Christmas story from the bible. After that we played a game of Christmas Bingo that Tara and Ty came up with. I just love this season and all the joy it brings. I really have come to realize what it is all about. I always knew we celebrated Jesus's birth but I never really thought about what that really means for each one of us. He is the reason we get to be with our families. He is the reason we are even here! Because of the birth of a little baby in a humble manger and later the sacrifice on the cross, we can be forgiven of our sins and we get to be with our families forever. I have come to realize in my life that there is nothing more in the world that I could possibly want then just to be with my family forever. Now that I am married to the most amazing man I cant imagine what life would be like without him. I am grateful for this season and for our Savior Jesus Christ. Anyways I always go off on tangents. Christmas day was wonderful as well. We went down and spent the day with my family. We unwrapped gifts and had yummy crepes for lunch. Later that night we played a wicked game of around the world ping pong. I just love my family. We found out that my sister Karen is now pregnant with her second so that is exciting and we will look forward to having the 7th grandchild on our side in July. Also I forgot to mention that my little brother Louis got his mission call to Honduras! He is leaving on July 20! So soon! I am going to miss that little bugger. But I am excited for him. Tomorrow we get to go down and go through the Oquirrh Mountain Temple with him and my family. I am so so happy for him and so excited. Brock's brother Nolan and his wife Bri were sealed to their son a few weeks back as well. This has been positively one of the best Christmas seasons that I have yet had and I am excited to have many more to come.

Stick to your task       till it sticks to you;

Beginners are many, but enders are few.

Honour, power, place,       and praise

Will come, in time, to the one who stays.

Stick to your task       till it stick to you;

Bend at it, sweat at       it, smile at it too;

For out of the bend and the sweat and the smile

Will come life's victories, after awhile.

~Author unknown
My Institute teacher showed us this poem today and I really feel like it applies to my life right now. Sometimes when it gets stinkin hard I just want to throw my hands up in the air and say "I quit!" Honestly life is just not as hard as I make it out to be. Ok so life is hard but what is great is that there is someone who knows what we are going through and he is always there for us when we need him. We just need to get on our knees and ask for help. I just feel more inspired to really go out and work hard because accomplishing something important brings great satisfaction and it is usually worth the time you spend working on it. Anyways so that's my thought for the day.

School

School has officially started and thus my responsibilities have increased a bunch. :P I am excited for school though just because then I feel like my brain isn't turning into mush like it was in the summer. But sadly no more vacations, no more going home from work and wondering what to do, no more freedom TO DO what I want to do but ah such is life and I still love it. Life is better busy anyways because then you don't feel like you are a waste of space and it feels good to accomplish stuff. Yay School!

New Background

So I learned how to do different backgrounds!
